A red ribbon with the words hope made delicious.

Nothing tastes better in my opinion, than knowing your delicious tasty meal is contributing towards a worthy cause.  A Taste for Life is one those worthwhile events. An event that brings awareness to a virtuous cause, all the while providing diners with an enjoyable time at one of your local restaurants.

A fire pit in front of a gazebo overlooking the water.

With snow still on the ground and ice slowly melting, I wouldn’t have thought of exposing myself to the cold wind blowing off the St. Lawrence River for a getaway retreat. However, I was wrong. Indulgence and pampering were in the cards for me as I enjoyed the beautiful 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel located on the St. Lawrence River in […]

Basically, all factors took centre stage as the five competitors pushed themselves to new levels of determination and […]

A bottle of wine, a passport and a magnifying glass on a map.

The joy of traveling allows food lovers to experience many of the world’s culinary offerings. They get to indulge in the tastes and smells of delicacies that only passports can provide. However, at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel, a AAA Four-Diamond full-service resort located on the beautiful St. Lawrence River, guests are offered a delightful evening of European gastronomy delights!

Ottawa, the Nation’s Capital, is fortunate to have many talented chefs and brilliant culinary instructors. Chefs and instructors that not only showcase their craft and talent, but also mentor those that would like to follow in their culinary footsteps. A great example of such mentoring is the 4th National Capital Region Culinary Competition. This event, which the general public […]

Capture 15

In the last week, Mother Nature has shown us her temperament. Days of blistery cold -35°C weather leaves us thinking that our food selection is limited in regards to locally sourced products. But, nothing could be further from the truth. Ottawa has six amazing restaurants that will be using locally produced ingredients that haven’t suffered from winter’s wrath during Savour […]
