Nespresso, Tequila and (good grief) Bourbon are not exactly libations that come to mind when I think of drinks that I would like to consume let alone mix. I am more of a dirty martini, G&T and Champagne lover kind of lady. For heaven’s sake, I don’t even drink coffee for that matter.
After several press conferences at the Wine and Food Festival, my stomach started to grumble something fierce. Patience I told myself, patience. Don’t get me wrong, there was an array of delicious finger foods for those attending the conferences but I wanted and craved more…it was after all, a Wine and Food festival!
Some people revel and dream about meeting their favorite Hollywood actor or their number one sports hero let alone a Grammy winning band. Mine was meeting and hearing the words of wisdom from the legend himself…being face to face with one of my culinary sources of inspiration – Joan Roca!!
Almost everyone I know has been to a Cirque du Soleil production, be it in Vegas, Quebec, Toronto and even in Ottawa where I live…except for me. It is truly ironic and kismet that it took me to travel to Mexico to experience the world’s first and only production of Cirque du Soleil, which combines both culinary and performing […]

They provide safe, affordable transitional housing for women and children who are survivors of violence.
As much as I’m a lover of fine dining and being spoiled with culinary dishes that deserve the red carpet treatment, I am also one who loves to venture out to discover the ‘real’ authentic flavors of a particular region. There is a time and place for duck confit and Moet Chandon just like there […]
We’ve all been there…we have all experienced the sensory overload sensation we get when we walk into a movie theatre and before we know it, our nose is guiding us like a seeing eye dog to the closest concession stand that holds the holy grail of snacks…POPCORN!!!
