Bash 2016: London’s Calling With It’s English Cuisine!

By on May 31, 2016

Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the ever so dapper James Bond. Now what do they all have in common? All pleasing to the eye…Yes, but they also call London home. And London happens to be this years theme to Ottawa’s hottest summer party, BASH!

Bash, in support of the Snowsuit Fund, will be hosting again another sold-out one a kind soirée! I had the pleasure of attending last year’s event and it was literally off the charts. No expenses were spared when it came to theatrics, entertainment and décor.

This year’s summer event is paying tribute to the royal treatment in every sense of the word. London Calls is the theme for this year’s chic evening. I have been told that anything and everything that screams and epitomizes British sophistication will be integrated in one facet or another at this year’s event.

And when I say anything and everything, I am talking about being awe struck as soon as you enter the Horticulture building, where the British extravaganza will be taking place, and from there the skies the limit!

As a VIP guest, you’re immediately spoiled with local food vendors serving a variety of London inspired fare and, of course, an open bar. As you move past the entrance, you uncover a secret London Underground party. You see a Beatles VIP cover band, three very famous London spies hosting table service, a London barber shop, PIMMS Bar and an important address from the Queen regarding the late night service of macarons and scones.

Now BASH 2016 London Calls wouldn’t be complete without savouring some English culinary delights, and you know, I have the culinary scoop for you.

I am please to say that several restaurants have teamed up and showed their support for the Snowsuit Fund. So here’s some teasers for you and your tummy to enjoy!

What is unique about this Champagne is the fact that it was created to be served over ice, hence its name - Ice Imperial. It is the perfect accompaniment to any dish or simply alone...sheer perfection!!

Here's to more 'occasions' or 'simply because' 😉

Cheers🥂

A couple of evenings ago, I had the pleasure and honour of being invited by my alma mater, @lecordonbleuottawa to witness Chef @antonyannick70 be awarded France's L'Ordre du mérite agricole, the highest civilian honour from the embassy @franceaucanada 😃

This distinction recognizes the contributions of Chef Yannick to promote French culture in Canada and Ottawa specifically - through his work as a chef and instructor at Le Cordon Bleu Institute in Ottawa.

Special moments of the evening included Ambassador of France to Canada, Michel Miraillet sharing with guests the numerous accomplishments that Chef Yannick Anton has accomplished over the years. Simply remarkable!!👏👏
A very touching and inspiring moment came when Chef Yannick Anton gave praise and gratitude to his mentors, who helped him attain his dream in the culinary industry. He also reminded the graduating class of chefs to always have a vision and to never let it go.👨‍🍳👩🏼‍🍳😍

And it wouldn't be a celebration without some tasty treats that exude French flare! They even had chocolate graduation hats - very cute and apropo 🎓🎓

Bravo Chef!!😊
Muy Caliente!!🔥🔥🌞🌞

With the insanely hot weather, nothing is more refreshing than this tasty Brazilian lemonade with some @bacardi Gold
