Ah, summer! The time of year when hot temperatures give a helping hand to Mother Nature’s bounty.
A time where sun, rain and manual labour give life and sustenance to a farmer’s field and in return provide delicious meals for our families.
To appreciate what Mother Nature has given us through the hard work of both farmers and chefs, Savour Ottawa Summer Tables is offering us the opportunity to enjoy the bounty of local farmers and producers at various restaurants, here in Ottawa.
Savour Ottawa Summer Tables is a collection of culinary events hosted by Savour Ottawa and held across the city at various restaurants over a period of 10 days in August (August 12th to 21st, 2016).
The goal of these events is to bring “farmers, restaurants, and local consumers together to enjoy delicious seasonal summer dishes in support of local agriculture and in celebration of the region’s talented chefs”.
I am happy to say that there will be nine restaurants within the local Ottawa area that will be participating and showcasing Savour Ottawa farmers.

Two weeks of local food menus and events!
To participate, the restaurants had the choice to either create a table d’hôte/ fixed price menu featuring locally grown and raised food (i.e. bought from a Savour Ottawa farmer/producer) and/or organise a special meal, event, or tasting celebrating Savour Ottawa products.
