When I travel, regardless if its a road trip or if its an international trip abroad I naturally immerse myself with the people of that area and tourists alike. I feed off the energy of the people around me and their willingness to share their exploits and adventures. It’s always nice to see fellow travel enthusiasts enjoying the same experiences as you are, to share the same passion and to really connect on that level.
For those of you that read my post “Globe Trotting for the love of food” (www.thefoodtease.com/2013/05/globe-trotting-for-love-of-food) you no doubt know (if you didn’t before) that my love of food is very much real and that I love nothing more than to share my passion with others. During my trip to Turks and Caicos, I had the pleasure of befriending many people who were at the Turks & Caicos Caribbean Wine and Food Festival for both work and for pleasure. One of those people was Jerry Luciani, a writer for The Record and Herald News. Both Jerry and Mary (his wife) made my ‘food experience’ during the festival that much more exciting. Their friendly demeanor, their openness to share and I cannot forget their candid frankness (which I love to pieces and something that we all shared as you will notice in the quotes that I made featured in his article) gave us an instant connection. The love of travel and the love of everything culinary related was always at the forefront of our conversations…hence travelling to such a paradise locale for such a lavish food event!
Jerry’s experience regarding the Turks & Caicos Caribbean Wine and Food Festival is now published for everyone to enjoy and to live vicariously through his words (www.northjersey.com/travel).
Savor the read and remember, the next best thing to reading about such opulent experiences are actually living and experiencing it for yourself. So my question to you is this….what are you waiting for?!
