Dinner4Four Co.Β who brought usΒ SoirΓ©eΒ are working their magicΒ once again to give guests another tantalizing evening that we have yet to experience in the Nation’s Capital. Ottawa is being spoiled as we now have the opportunity toΒ enjoyΒ whatΒ I consider to be the bestΒ seasonΒ –Β autumn. A season whereΒ it’sΒ not too hot and not too cold…just perfect, especiallyΒ with your very own fireplace!

Being a fan of his work and one who has eaten many, many meals that he has prepared, I was more than pleased to hear that Executive Chef Rene Rodriguez (Top Chef Canada 2014 Winner, Beat Bobby Flay Winner, Navarra Restaurant, Orto Trattoria Restaurant) will be serving guests a four-course meal for this fall inspiredΒ culinary event.

Chef Rodriguez will be using Ontario’s freshest seasonal ingredients provided byΒ Mariposa Farms & Fresh StartΒ Foods. Having personally visited and had the pleasure of eating atΒ Mariposa FarmsΒ on several occasions, it makes me happy to know that the high-quality products being used for theΒ event will be sourced by this farm. Mariposa stands behind theirΒ mandateΒ inΒ thatΒ all of their animals and vegetables are produced with chemical-free productsΒ all the whileΒ practicing sustainable agriculture.

I had the pleasure of spending time yesterday with John Diep, Chef and owner of @shinkasushibar
I was mesmerized as he assembled a truly beautiful and ever so flavourful Omakase sushi box (chefs choice). Sushi lovers, you need to check them out!!πππ£

I was in food heaven indulging in some lobster tempura, wrapped in a soybean sheet...it doesn't get better than this! So creative!!

Watching Chef Diep create and assemble my Omakase sushi was like watching an artist paint, except I had the pleasure of eating his outstanding creativity!!ππ
.
The edible art that leaves you wanting for more. My Omakase sushi consisted of an assortment of fish and ingredients that I had never tried before, and I'm so glad that I have now. I'm am talking about; soybean sheet encasing the lobster tempura (think of a tasty crepe), Kama toro sashimi (neck part of tuna, melt in your mouth), blue fin tuna, Hamachi topped with jalapeΓ±o (yellowtail), golden thread fin sashimi, chutoro nigiri (fatty tuna) topped with sturgeon caviar from Poland...to name just a few. And those beautiful flowers that you see, they are all edible, shipped straight from Japanπ± πΊπ£π―π΅ππ

I absolutely love to eat at #yangtze on Somerset, and without fail, every time, their dishes are spot on! This was the perfect place to celebrate!!ππ

Everything from their shrimp and pork shumais, stuffed eggplant, fried shrimp rolls, and pork dumplings and fried noodles with a side of garlic bok choy was absolutely tasty!!

Who loves hot springs? I know I do, as they are incredibly relaxing and therapeuticπ₯π

Relaxing in one of Wotten Waven's well-known natural hot sulfur springs, which are believed to have medicinal qualities, was incredible!! The hot sulphuric water is mixed with river water, so it's not only tolerable but that it doesn't burn the skin. Complete relaxation!!

When traveling to new destinations, I try to immerse myself in cultural experiences, and this hot sulfur dip in Dominica was a mustππ€©
