Ottawa’s Very Own Modern Botanical Dinner Party!

What do you get when you combine a love for Mother Nature’s creations and the culinary creativity of a top executive chef in one of Ottawa’s most sought-after venue? Well…you get treated to an intimate botanical-inspired gastronomical experience!

Lately, Ottawa has been buzzing with unique culinary and wine events that are drawing much interest from all demographics – from millennials for their Instagram selfie moments to those that simply enjoy the experience for what it is. Nonetheless, one thing is certain, Ottawa is in for a treat with this truly new concept of dining in elegance.

Dinner4Four Co. who brought us Soirée (the domed dinners by the famed canal) are now coming inside to give guests another tantalizing evening that we have yet to experience in Ottawa.

The perfect recipe for an elegant outing has to meet certain ‘musts’ and the “Modern Botanical” evening has them all! Guests will be mesmerized by the 100% botanical-inspired theme in the newly transformed National Arts Centre and feel ready to let loose as they are entertained by live music from The Commotions, a 12 piece Funk/Soul/Motown band from Ottawa featuring both Rebecca Noelle and Jeff Rogers.

 

Now the Food

This is always my favourite part of an event – seeing and tasting the gourmand creations that we will be spoiled with throughout the evening. Guests will be elated to hear that the four-course meal will be headed by the NAC’s very own Executive Chef Kenton Leier.

When: August 8th, 9th & 10th Presale Tickets go on sale JUNE 4th-7th

Where: The National Arts Centre (1 Elgin St)

Tickets: Each ticket allows access to the event for a guest, and include a 4-course dinner for $148 ($168 w/o discount code). You will be asked to select either a Végétalien Sain (Vegan) or Plat de Viandes (Meat) for your option. Feature Wines will be sold separately. Purchase your tickets here.

Important to note:  Cocktail reception begins at 6:30 pm and dinner served promptly at 7:15 pm.

A couple of evenings ago, I had the pleasure and honour of being invited by my alma mater, @lecordonbleuottawa to witness Chef @antonyannick70 be awarded France's L'Ordre du mérite agricole, the highest civilian honour from the embassy @franceaucanada 😃

This distinction recognizes the contributions of Chef Yannick to promote French culture in Canada and Ottawa specifically - through his work as a chef and instructor at Le Cordon Bleu Institute in Ottawa. 

Special moments of the evening included Ambassador of France to Canada, Michel Miraillet sharing with guests the numerous accomplishments that Chef Yannick Anton has accomplished over the years. Simply remarkable!!👏👏
A very touching and inspiring moment came when Chef Yannick Anton gave praise and gratitude to his mentors, who helped him attain his dream in the culinary industry. He also reminded the graduating class of chefs to always have a vision and to never let it go.👨‍🍳👩🏼‍🍳😍

And it wouldn't be a celebration without some tasty treats that exude French flare! They even had chocolate graduation hats - very cute and apropo 🎓🎓
