Tickets (2012 price): $150
Launched in June 2003 to mark the opening of Brook-street Hotel, Lumière has become one of Ottawa’s best summer garden parties, raising money for local charities. Last September, more than 530 people raised $74,000 as they enjoyed superlative food served at stations prepared by Brookstreet executive chef Clifford Lyness and his chefs.
The evening ends with a spectacular fireworks show. Beneficiaries for the 11th edition are Wesley Clover Foundation and the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. Tickets go on sale in July; details expected at the Brookstreet website.

**Food Tease’s thoughts: years ago I had the pleasure of working longside some of Ottawa’s better known chefs: Kurt Waldele, Frederic Filliodeau, Michael Blackie just to name a few. This event was stellar and very well organised for the guests. The price is a bit steep but it all goes to a good cause. I still have fond memories sipping Crystal champagne as the night sky was lite up with the beautiful firework display put on for the guests.
